Multiple lan on same host

Hi

I have an issue setting up different Lan's on the same host and not sure how to do this, I'm trying to setup a test network on one host.

The host IP is 10.0.0.1 255.255.0.0

Created a standard vswitch on the nic and a management network 10.0.0.1

next created a virtual machine port group with two virtual machines attached to it addresses are

172.16.5.1 255.255.255.0

172.16.6.1 255.255.255.0

when I ping one I get ping transmit failure

I know I ahve a routing issue but dont how to get round it on an virtual setup

basically I want to set up three different subnets with connectivity between them on the same host

would be very grateful for any help

Welcome to the community - easiest way would be to add a virtual router with virtual NICs assigned to both LANs - you can download a virtual applicance from the market place -
