Multipath support

Hi,

I have a question regarding multipath configuration. I have a SUN 6540 active/passive array and ESX configured as MRU. There are 6 LUNs allocated across 3 ESX hosts (LUNs 1-6). I see the LUNs however the storage admin says 3 were assigned to CTRLA and 3 were assigned to CTRLB. Now he sees an error on the array that all 6 reside on CTRLB (3 of them changed ownership). I tried to run vmkmultipath -q and esxcfg-mpath -l of which neither work.

A). why are these commands not working

B). Is there anything I can do to ensure proper load across both HBA's on each server

A) what happens when you type that at a root prompt

B) That will depends on what your storage configs see.

Good point. I guess I SSH using a seperate user account as root is not allowed unless at the console. Now that you mention that, when I was running esxcfg-nics -l and -vswitches that was from the console.
