Monitoring host health in ESX 3.5

Hi there,

I'd like to monitor the temperature of my ESX's processores using VI, I created a triggered alarm so that the host will send me an email if the status changed from "green" to "yellow" and from "yellow" to "red". My questin is, does anyone here know what the threshold values of "yellow" and "red" are? Thanks a lot!

If your server supports IPMI (all the latest HP,IBM,DELL supports it) and if the processor temperature information is available to the IPMI,the same will be available at VI>Configuration>Health Status.Yellow is a warning and red means a critical alert. For most of the temperature sensors there are some Threshold levels like Upper critical Threshold , Lower Critical Threshold , Upper Non Critical Threshold and Lower Non Critical Thresholds. The status change of the tempature sensors are shown depending on these thresholds.
