I'm looking for a way or a tool that can monitor my VC/ESX/VM environment and alert on CPU Ready & Memory Ballooning/VMKSwap. CPU Ready seems to be pretty well catered for in various tools I've seen, but no-one seems to offer alerting on Memory Ballooning/Swap. I personally want to know if the balloon driver is being heavily used and likewise defintely want to know if the VM swap is being used.
Does anyone know of a way to alert on these without 3rd party tools, or has anyone seen or is using a tool that can do the job?
Thanks.
Doug.
check out this document, it may be useful
http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-9279
...or if you prefer .pdf
Thanks for the link, but this still doesn't help me with being able to monitor & alert on these things.
Cheers,
Doug.
Take a look at Veeam Monitor or Veeam nWorks if you use HP OVO or Microsoft System Center.
