Hello everybody ..
I have 4 (host esx) with 21 Ibm Lun,and I think that 1 disk/lun was miss
My fdisk is the following
Disk /dev/sdv: 278.0 GB, 278099132416 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 33810 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdv1 1 33810 271578761 fb Unknown
Disk /dev/sda: 557.2 GB, 557272006656 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 67751 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System[/b]
Disk /dev/sdb: 557.2 GB, 557272006656 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 67751 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1 * 1 67751 544209876 fb Unknown[/b[/b]]
Disk /dev/sdc: 278.0 GB, 278099132416 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 33810 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdc1 1 33810 271578761 fb Unknown
The two LUNs in bold were made in the same moment ..but now 1 of this is missing I don't why ..but I think that the fdisk output is "clear" (off course the LUN is not empty) .
Please somebody can help me ?
Any ideas ?
Thank you
If your sure it was there, and sure it was vmfs3, and sure it used the entire LUN, then you can just put down a new partition and the underying data will remain intact. I see its /dev/sda, so I assume your using IDE fo rthe boot drive?
anyway,
fdisk /dev/sda
n (new partiton)
take default start/end, use entire drive
t (change type)
fb (vmware file system)
w (write and exit)
Depending on you system/SAN, it may be all good. You may need to resignature the drive, maybe not.
But if there was a vmfs on it, this will put it back with data.
my 2 cents
Ok
Problem solved .
Thank you .
