Maximums iSCSI LUNs per ESX Server

Hello all!

I've been reading some PDFs and I found a discrepancy between documents. In the "Configuration Maximums for VI3" (i3_301_201_config_max.pdf), page 3, there is a maximum number for iSCSI LUNs on a ESX Server as 256.

In the "Storage / SAN Compatibility Guide For ESX Server 3.x" (vi3_san_guide.pdf), page 16, it says 254. Does anybody know which of these numbers are correct?

thanks

256 LUNs per Server is correct.

...except during install, when only the first 128 are seen by the installer.

128 is probably best practice. If you have more than this you might want a second VM farm...
