Dear all,

I have installed VMWare ESX 3.5 at HP Proliant DL380 G5, when i connected to HP MSA70 (External storage) using P800 controller, it does not detected at VM Ware. Could you help me about this? what should i do so the MSA70 has been detected?

Thanks,

Hello,

You need to first place a LUN or two on the MSA70. You can do this by downloading the RHEL3 Array Configuration Utility, installing it into the SC, and running it from the command line. THere are two versions, either should work.

I had this issue today, but didn't need to load any software inside the service console.

You just need to make sure you create a logical drive which is less than 2TB.

Pressing F8 during the boot of the DL380 will allow you to create this.

Oops... Smiley Happy

It has been working since several days. You are right VMWare ESX 3.5 does not support storage more than 2TB.
