Linux P2V help

I'm trying to convert a physical RHEL 3.9 box to a VM. I used the Enterprise cold boot VMware Converter CD to boot the machine and converted it to a VM on my ESX 3.5 server. That was not a big deal. The problem is that once the VM is created, it won't boot.

I'm getting the following errors:

/bin/aic7xxx.0: init_module:

Hint: ismod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters including lid IO or IRQ parameters. You may find more information in syslor or the output from dmesg

ERROR: /bin/ismod exited abnormally

VFS: Can not open root device "LABEL=/" or 00:00

Please append a correct "root=" boot option

Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to moutn root fs on 00:00

Any suggestions?

I don't know if you have a rescue CD, but you'll probably need to do an inventory of the hardware again. that's what I faced when i virtualized SUSE.

You will need to boot to a RHEL rescue CD and insert a new SCSI module. Check out this blog post. I use it all the time. Make sure you read the entire post because it deals with different kernel versions.
