I was looking for a paper on installing a linux cluster bewteen two ESX hosts with SAN storage . I found a paper about microsoft cluster but non about linux . Can anyone point me to som WP ?

You would need to implement the Redhat cluster suite, I would love to see someone get this working! The ESX console is based on RHEL 3. I'm not sure if it possible though.

And of course the vmware HA is always an option.

Do you mean that clustering linux VM is not supported ?

No, I thought you wanted to cluster the ESX host itself.

You should be able to cluster linux vm's, I haven't heard anything that says you can not.
