Last modified date for VM

I have a bunch of VM's that have been powered off for quite some time. I need to know roughly how long they have not been used

Should I look at the last modified date for the .vmdk file by selecting the datastore in the virtual infrastructure client?

Thanks.

can you check with VI CLient > click in virtual machine > Tasks & Events > Events

check the last power off or shutdown guest.

if you there powercli check this discussion http://communities.vmware.com/thread/282507

You can also use the datastore browser and check the date of the most recent log file.

This is the date of the last disk write operation (usually the the VM has been shutdown).
