Hi,
We are observing following issue since last week:-
1. LIPwarning messages arecoming from ESX Servers which is causing LUN disappearing issue. Would like to understand more on LIP generates.( Why & How)
2. The Same setup seems to be working with Emulex card.
3. Wehave logged a service request with VMware. VMWare response:- QLogic FC HBAsby default automatically detects the FC network type. In some cases, with non-restrictive zoning, a QLogic HBA can attempt to log into another QLogic HBA, causing LIPs and, in some cases, LIP storms. As a result the issues are persisting. But, in our environment we are seeing this in restricitve zoning environement.
4. HP Support document
Blades already have, Point-to-Point enabled in the QLogic BIOS Utility.
VM Infrastructure on Blade / EVA setup:-
C7000 Enclosure with BL680c G5 server blades
HBA Mezzanine card:- QLogic QMH2462 4Gb FC HBA for HP c-Class BladeSystem
Storage:-EVA 6100 and EVA 8100
SAN Switch : HP Storageworks San Switch 4/32
Environment:-
We are running ESX Server 3.5 Udate-4 on BL 680c G5 server which has Qlogic HBA card and using HP Storageworks San Switch 4/32 for connecting EVA 6100. EVA 6100 acting as primary storage and EVA 8100 acting as secondary storage.
Does anybody encountered/faced the similar issues?
Thanks,
Umesh
