Issue logging onto ESX Server 3.0

Hi there,

I am having an issue logging into an ESX 3.0 Host using the Infrastructure Client and the web interface.

We have been running with no isues for around 6 months and all of a sudden today, we receive the following message:

" Timed out waiting for the server response"

We are able to connect to all VMs, ping the host and connect to the host and logon using SSH.

Is there some sort of authentication service that may have stopped? It seems to only be an issue logging onto GUIs.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

Maybe you want to restart your managment service?

/etc/init.d/mgmt-vmware restart

Thanks for your prompt reply divintas.

I tried restarting the managment service as you recommended but it is still not responding.

Any other ideas? If not, we are probably going to have to restart the host I'd say?

I would also restart the vpxa service:

service vmware-vpxa restart

Hi there,

I entered the command as suggested and came up with the following error/message:

# service vmware-vpxa restart

vmware-vpxa: unrecognized service

sorry, if you are not using Virtual Center this service is not loaded. I misread your original post.
