I just finish to upgrade from version 3.01 to the version 3.5 and then from this version to the version 3.5 u4 with the VMWare ZIP.

I usd to command esxupdate update. My update is just finih but In my monitor, I see ESX Server Version 3.5.0

I think, I should see 3.5 version 4?

if ESX Classic, from the service console issue

>esxupdate -l query

>vmware -v

These commands will tell you what patches are installed and what build level you are at.

You should see ESX Server 3i, 3.5.0, 158869

The 158869 indicates the version and is U4 for 3i . . not sure if you are using embedded 3i, or the normal ESX?

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

Yes, that is normal, you will see a build number, the build number is what the "update" is...

right after patch to U4, there are a mess of other updates, so your buld number will change to 158xxx

VMware ESX Update:

Build Number:

ESX 3.5.0 Update 1

64607

ESX 3.5.0 Update 2

110268

ESX 3.5.0 Update 3

ESX 3.5.0 Update 4

123630

153875

In Fact, I type this command: vmware -v and it gave me :VMWARE ESX Server 3.5.0 Build 153875 which is the Version U4.

Tin fact, that is normal to have the display of 3.5.0

Thanks

Cool - you're on 3.5 - my build may be slightly different as I use the HP embedded version.
