Installing MultiPort Modem Adapter

Hi all,

I'm trying to install a Digi Acceleport RAS 8 PCI card in my ESX 3.0.2 Server for use in a guest OS (Windows Server 2003 R2). When I try to install drivers for the card using either the rpm or the tar file, I receive several errors the first being:

"The "dm_gui" utility requires the file "usr/include/tcl.h" which does not exist on your system."

Has anyone had success with anything similar?

Thanks in advance.

Cards such as this are not supported on ESX. The compatibility guides here will give you an idea of what is supported http://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/vi_pubs.html.

Here's an older similar thread to take a look at

http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?messageID=11800⸘

and if use of the Digi card is a must, then you may want to take a look at VMware Server.

I've looked at a few other threads discussing VMotion and Lantronix. Essentially I have an ftp server on a Win2k platform which facilitates our RRAS. I'm trying to virtualize the machine and upgrade to 2k3. Can you think of any other solutions which would allow me to achieve this sort of outcome?

Thx
