Installing ESXi 3.5 Through Remote Desktop

I have remote desktop access and I was wondering if this is possible and can it be done. Some suggestions please. I have been combing the forums for hours and have not found a viable solution.

You will need access to a console (HP ilO for example), or physically connect to the console.

What type of server are you installing 3i on?

Do you have physical access to this server?

You need to install ESXi 3.5 on a server that does not have an OS installed. If the server you install ESXi 3.5 on has a KVM connected to it - you should be able to perform the install via your KVM over IP.

Go about doing what? KVM over IP? Have a look on the web for info in regards to the KVM you use.

ESXi runs on bare metal and does not require a host OS like is required with VMware Server. The ISO image that you download is a bootable CD. You stick it in the host and boot to CD. The install is fairly quick and painless (assuming ESXi can see all the hardware - see an install video here - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/ESX_3i_install/ESX_3i_install.html.
