Install help PE4600

All,

I have seen a few other threads that have shown guys have installed ESXi 3.5 on a PE4600..

ESXi 3.5 build 207095

I have a decent box that I'm trying to install this on,

Dual xeon 3.0 processors

8 GIG ram

3 36 GIG scsi hard drives

The install process goes well until the very end. It pops up with an error that it cant see the drives. I know this is unsupported and the hardware is not listed in the HCL.

It's acting like the scsi driver is not getting installed. Their for it will not see the drives. Any help on this would be great. I know its old hardware, but I just want to turn this old beast into a dev/play box.

If you look at this thread:

http://communities.vmware.com/message/1508876#1508876

This guy has it setup and running, and looks like he also patched it 226117

Hello.

Do you have the latest BIOS and firmware packages installed on the 4600? It may help, maybe.

Good Luck!

Yes,

When i picked it up it was running Bios version A10 from Dell.

I downloaded the latest A13 and reflashed the Bios .. same deal ..

I'm also doing some digging on vm-help.com my guess is the scsi driver is the issue. Im just not sure I have what it takes to make the new bootable media.
