I have a set of ESX 3.01 server connected to Netapp LUNs. I was told by the Netapp engineer that I should install the Netapp host utilities on every ESX server. I just wanted to check with you all if this is a good idea or not.
We have been getting a lot of FCP misconfigure messages and we were told by the NetApp engineer that we should run the host utilities on our ESX servers as well. Make sure you patch your systems first though, there is a very recent patch that is required by the latest version of the host utilities.
Do you know which patch?
From the NetApp support site...
Important: Before installing the Host Utilities, you must install VMware patch ESX-1000039, which corrects an issue with the existing SCSI pass-through mechanism used by the sanlun utility. This issue causes an ambiguous "DNS Failure" error message to display during the Host Utilities installation process.
Download the patch from the following VMware site:

Excellent! Thanks.
Where do we download the host utility?
http://now.netapp.com/NOW/download/software/sanhost_esx/3.0/download.shtml
You will need a NetApp support login
Is there anywhere IBM (Netapp OEM) customers can download the same?
I only found ISCSI utilities on the IBM site, not FC utilities.
