I hate to ask this question, but apparently I don't know the answer... I've just built out a new ESX server and I need to build a new VirtualCenter. I have an existing cluster running with a Windows 2003 template - is tehre any way I can import this template over to the new standalone ESX server or do I need to buid my first VM for VirtualCenter from .iSO?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
If licensing permits, you could temporarily add the standalone ESX host to your vCenter server and deploy a new VM from your template.
Afterwards remove your host from the vCenter and add it to your newly created vcenter server.

A standalone ESX host does not support templates, so you have to change the template back to a VM and use VMware Converter to copy the "template/vm" to the new host.
