Illegal Opcode (Red Screen Of Death) after Firmware Upgrade

My server is ProLiant DL385 G5p and running ESXi 5.0 Boot From SAN aka BFS using Broadcom dependent card.

After installation of ESXi 5.0, I have upgraded it's firmware using "HP Smart update firmware DVD version 10.0"

Now while booting I am getting error as Illegal Opcode. Please find the attached for more details.

After referring following link I come to know there must be GRUB loader error.

http://communities.vmware.com/message/1110199

And one of the VMware kb article is saying "Upgrade the BIOS before conducting the VMware ESX upgrade"

Ref: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=101555...

Do you have any alternative to resolve this issue?

Is it an iSCSI SAN Boot Card or FC?

I've faced a same problem with iSCSI BFS, I was using two initiators one as primary and one as secondary. I had an option to use four of them. Just for testing purposes, I disabled three of those out of four and esxi got installed with no problem. Try disabling all of them except one and check whether esxi is getting installed.
