IDE converting to SCSI

I have begun testing ESX 3.5, right now my systems run VMServer. All of my CD and Hard Drives are IDE, but ESX needs them to be SCSI. How can I convert them without losing data. Also right now Im using the OVF tool from VMWare to convert my vmx files, is there a better way or is that the best?

Im mainly concerned about not have scsi drives, could someone please help.

Thank you.
