IBM Serveraid Firmware vs ESX Driver Versions

Hi,

From the compatibility giude I see that my Serveraid 6+ adapter is supported in ESX 3.5 and it is built using the 7.10.17driver. IBM recommends\states you should run the same versions of the OS driver and hardware firmware to ensure compatibility. As 7.10.17 is quite an old driver and my card is at a higher firmware revision what can I do? The only firmware available on the IBM site is the latest 7.12.x?

Regards

Rob

What kind of box do you have?

I have an old x440 that gave me nothing but problems with ESX 3.5 Update 1/2/3. The local disk (controller obviously) would crap out, and the / file system would become readonly.

I did a reinstall with ESXi 3.5 Update 2, and haven't had any trouble out of the box.

I know it is unsupported, but for that matter ESX 3.5 is unsupported on an x440.
