How to set Daylight Savings Time

How can you activate DST from the service console after ESX installation?

DST should be present based on the timezone you selected when you installed ESX

at the service console type:

>date

I know, there is a check box for it when installing ESX, I was refering to after installation is there a way to confirm that is present....

They have taken care of that for you, as long as you selected the correct time zone, it will work. That's why there is a Central Time zone and a Central Time Zone (Indiana), because certain parts of Indiana are not on DST, for instance. So if you picked the correct one you are good. They periodically update via patches time zone updates, whenver they change, so they keep up with ALL the time zones throughout the world including when they change, and month / day for activation of DST.

The only way to confirm it's present is check the console, and type date. Or on ESXi you can see it in the main screen, but other than that the more important piece is NTP, that will ensure your ESX host is kept in synch with the correct time.
