How to ping from specific port group on a vswitch that is in a vlan

Hello, I have a vswitch0 with 2 adapters and two port groups. 1 port group is a service console the other port group is for vmotion. Both are on dif subnetts and vlans

Is there a way i can specify what port group and what adapter i can ping from

I am trying to test my network connectivity with the vlan/vmotion and to do that I want to ssh into the box and ping another nic on another esx host that is in the vmotion vlan

However it seems that it wants to use the service console port group to ping which is on the wrong subnet and vlan

thanks

To ping using vmkernel stack, you use vmkping instead of ping. So, to test vmotion IP connectivity, you use vmkping vmkernel_ip, otherwise, vmkping regular_ip to exercise that interface's connectivity to the network in general.
