How to create a network where specific VMs can talk to each other but not on the network

Does anyone know how to do this? I assume I would create a virtual switch but how do I configure it so multiple VMs can talk to each other? How do I configure the IPs on the VMs? Gateway?

Thanks!

This is more networking than virtualization, but let's do the "virtual part". You can create a Virtual Switch with no uplink, and then a VM Portgroup on it. Plug your VMs only on it and you can be sure that the network traffic will not be on your physical network.

The IPs/gateway I think you should talk to an network administrator in order to try to setup that...

Hope this helps.

Got it. I did this and it worked - I actually had a gateway address configured on the VMs which is why it was not working before.

Thanks.
