I've currently got one vswitch with two physical nic's configured for it - I want to change the load balancing policy on it from route based on port id to route based on source mac hash. I need to do this from command line....... long story as to why I can't from VI Client
Thanks
Which version of ESX are you using? There are some guides for using VIMSH which can be used for this here - http://www.xtravirt.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=99&Itemid=124. In particular the scripting advanced network configuration with VIMSH guide - http://www.xtravirt.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=75&func=fileinfo&id=6.

Thanks Dave! That second link looks like the goer.....
I'm using ESX 3.5
I'll let you know how it goes - will run it tomorrow at work (it's almost 11pm)
Thanks
Hi Dave - didn't need to use the service console command line in the end..... managed to communicate with service console after the trunking config on the Cisco switch was changed.
Thanks
