How copy ISO file to ESX 3.0.2 repository?

Hi

I am sorry for my English and simple question because I am new ESX user and I try learn first.

I have one ESX without Virtual Center.

I need install new virtual machine from datastore in ESX server.

But I do not know how copy ISO file to ESX server.

Please help me. Thanks Robert

By default (for security reasons) root is not allowed to login using ssh / scp.

You can either disable this (not recommended) or transfer the file as a normal user and coyp it afterwards to /vmimages using the root login from the console.

Put the ISO in the /vmimages folder.

Thanks. I download WinSCP but I can not connect to my ESX server Smiley Sad

I put correct IP as Host name and choice default POrt number (22),root as user and correct passwor. As file protocol I choice SCP.

When I try connect I obtain message:

Searching for host

connecting to host

authenticating

using username root

authenticating with pre-entered password

access denied

Smiley Sad I must do anything else?

Root access is denied SSH access by default. If this is just a test system you can turn it off with this utility: http://www.veeam.com/root_access/

You can also use FastSCP as suggested earlier as it will allow you to do a su (switch user) in the session to switch to the root user. But before you can do that you'll need to create a generic user and grant the user shell access. Once you create the user, you'll be able to use that account with WinSCP, or you can use it with FastSCP or the root access app from above.

Thanks for your helpful.

But I have another problem because durning copy Server send disconnect message type 2 (SSH_DISCONNECT_PROTOCOL_ERROR) Corrupted MAC on input.

I have a server with 2 network card. It is maybe a problem? How can I repaid it?
