I received a host error notification late Friday from both of our hosts. It appears as if it was a host not responding error and come Monday morning it was discovered that a few of our VMs shut down.
Would a host not responding error cause VMs to shutdown? HA IS ENABLED but I think there are HA config errors since we lost power to our networking cabinet prior to this incident (all of our switches) and all the VMs on one host shut down.
I've verified that when host isolation occurs that the VMs should stay up, but this doesn't seem to be functioning.
I vaguely recall similar issues happing to other users, maybe an update fixed this? We are running 3.5 U3 and VI2.5. I have plans to update to U4 along with many other updates in the coming weeks. I am not doing Vsphere4 now becasue upgrade advisor shows no support for VIEW yet.
Has anyone solved simliar host isolation errors, with HA enabled?
I can post error logs if someone would kindly explain how to generate them
Ben
