HP Insight monitoring and ESX

Can someone tell me if its possible to run the standard HP hardware monitoring with ESX

I'm used to doing it with Windows boxes :>)

yes this is possible, you will need to download the ESX version from HP and install into the service console

tar -zxvf hpmgmt-7.9.0-vmware3x.tgz

This will create two new directories (/hpmgmt/790) under your current directory.

Change to the new ./hpmgmt/780 directory and view the README file for installation instructions.

cd /opt/hpmgmt/790

>./installvm790.sh --install

then go through the options to open firewall ports 2381 for HPsim and one for ssl and input community strings

I would not use Insight Manager 7.9.0 if I were you, there are known issues. Better to go with 7.9.1
