HP Insight Manager

Currently have 2 ESX 3.0.2 boxes on HP Proliant DL580 G4.

Have installed IM Agent on servers, problem is the servers are both showing up as "minor" in our list, however when clicking inside the health status everything is green. I have disabled the ILO port in the BIOS, could this be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Look for an event that is not cleared. Also we have the problem with disabling ILO boards. IM agent reports nevertheless an error with (not existing) connectivity of ILO board.

Do you have an nics that are not connected but are enabled? I've heard you must disable these if you want a clean SIM console and this takes a reboot.

Or if you cannot disable the NIC then you can simply put a loopback plug on it...

We had a Dual NIC in one of our Proliant servers and could not disable one of the ports so we put a loopback plug on the port and it all worked...

Thanks for all the replies..

All NIC's are currently in use so no empty ports. To add, before I disabled the ILO in the BIOS, it was showing "Major" "loop failed on ILO.." once I disabled this in the BIOS the "minor" appeared. Is there anyway to stop the monitoring of the ILO all together?.

Your problem is that de SMH reads de logfile intergrate management log. In this management log are old problems off the server registered. Before you put the server into sim clear the ingrate management log and restart the agents on the host.

After that do a hardware and software discover in SIM.
