HP Continuous access and DRS/HA

Hi,

I was wondering whether there is anyone out there using CA on EVA storage to replicate VMFS luns that contain DRS/HA cluster vm's and what your experiences of this are.

Thanks,

It works, I have not done this yet myself however various posts have information on this.

I cant see the cluster/HA being an issue when you are talking about LUN replication. Why would you think is is?

Thanks

Dan

We are using HP XP1024 arrays with continuous access where our vmfs datastores were CA'd. no issues. We have all our servers pointing to one array but can swithc them over to the other array if it becomes available.

We would like to do this switchover on an automatic level using RDM pointers to CA'd LUNs for each VM but haven't found anything about scripting this.

Hello,

We have 2 EVA8000 HP and Continous Access installed.

We have some Blade 460 running VMWARE ESX / HA and DRS.

It tried to use Fail over with CA and VM, it works fine.

LUN's are replicated with same LUN number, it's important.

VMWARE is installed in your site for 5 months, same

thing for EVA. And you ?

Hi all, what it's not clear to me is what happens when you switchover to the second EVA.

Is it transparent for ESX servers? or you have to manually rescan (disks and vmfs volumes)??

If it's the second choice, all VMs will be down, isn't it?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards.

Hello,

how have you solved the problem? Do you have to manually rescan the LUNs?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers
