HBA not found for Stand-by path

I have a host server that has a single HBA w/ two (2) ports on the HBA. I can see both adapters in the Hardware-Storage Adapters section and each adapter can see the two (2) LUNs we have presented to them. However, when I choose Storage (SCSI....) and the properties of either of the attached storage there is only one (1) active path showing the 2nd HBA and no passive path w/ the 1st HBA. I have not been able to figure out how to have it see the other HBA and as a result the failover does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thank you.

Check to see if your path is enabled. See SAN guide section for multipathing p. 91.

There is one active path displayed but the 2nd HBA is not shown. e.g. vmhba2:0:2 has a path status of Active. I would expect to see vmhba1:0:2 as the Standby but it is not there. However, if I choose Storage Adapters and click each HBA they each see the same LUNs.
