HBA Error

I have a few errors on my console that have me a bit worried SCSI: 4510 Cannot find a path to device vmhba2:1:8 In a good state. Trying path vmhba2:1:8. same thing for vmhba3:0:8. Is this loss of connectivity or something else? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It seems to LUN8 is not visible through hba2 and hba3.

1. Check the cables from esx to san storage.

2. Unrespesent and represent the LUN8 to esx host server from storage. Make sure, there is no VM running on that datastore.

3. Rescan the hba card on the esx server

Check if you still seeing any error message.

Seems a multipath warning.

Check your SAN cable and connectivity.

Also check on VMFS datastore / Properties / Manage Paths

Andre,

Not quite sure what where you mean on VMFS datastore / Properties / Manage Paths. On the vmware side or the storage side?

On the ESX side.

Guys,

Thanks for the replies. It makes sense now. We were adding and deleting LUN's the other day and we took a couple off line. I just didn't notice the LUN ID. After i looked at what LUN it was it made sense. Thanks again for the replies!!

Are other LUN's looking ok, if its issue with HBA, it may be causing issue with all LUN's

Having sadi that, not sure if you have multipathing, if you do can you see the LUN from other path.

also check with your SAN admin about switch ports etc.
