HA is broken after I updated my /etc/hosts file

Hello everyone,

I have one urgentquestion to ask.

I updated my host file on both of my ex servers and it broke HA.

It says this form the VC client: cmb remove failed

I tried unchecking HA and rechecking HA but I did not work.

From what I can see in previous posts, It could be a DNS problem.

I can ping my shortname, FQDN and ip form both servers without any problem.

Anyone have nay clue as to what I can do to solve this freaking problem ?

Thanks.

check

>/etc/opt/vmware/aam/FT_HOSTS

make sure all your nodes are listed. You can also disconnect and remove the ESX Host(s) in question and then "add host" back into the cluster to see if that helps.

Once you have restarted the management agents, try right clicking the host in VC and selecting 'reconfigure for HA'

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

I followed this and it works. I had to rename the aam folder to aam.old in order to make it work.

so here is what I done.

step i did in VIC:

1-Uncheck HA .

Steps in did for both of my esx hosts:

2-run hostname -v -f to make sure that my hostname is identical to the host file.

3-Create aam.old & move everything from aam to aam.old.

4-restart network,mgmt-vmware & vmware-vpxa service.

step I did in VIC:

5-Recheck HA.

Thanks for all your help
