Dear all
New here so hi to everyone.
Quick query.
We have 2 VMWare Clusters One of which is proving particulary Resource intensive. At the moment even the dev environment is taking part in DRS. I plan eventualy to migrate all Dev servers out of our production Cluster and in to their own non DRS enabled cluster.
Meenwhile Is there a way of excludind a particular VM from participating in any DRS initiated migrations..??

There sure is -
Right click your cluster, edit settings, under VMware DRS choose Virtual Machine Options.... from there you can disable said VM
Good luck
yes. Edit Settings of the cluster, go to Virtual Machine Options (under VMware DRS), change the automation level to disabled for that particular guest.

Cheers Guys have that..and all done.
just noticed tho one of our hosts only has one VM on it.. it dosnt seem to be working too hard should DRS have not load ballanced all of my hosts,..?/

DRS will only move guests if the host(s) in question are not supplying the available resources. A good way to check it would be to highlight your cluster and look at the graph that says Percent of entitled resources delivered. My guess is the bars are to the far right.
Also, remember DRS will only move your guests automatically if you set your Automation Level to fully automated.
Glad you got it working Paul...
Re DRS load balancing - Under the Clusters DRS settings you can set it as Fully Automated, you can also set thresholds
