We have an ESX 3.5 server that has a whole bunch of Windows XP VMs running on it. Each VM is set up to has it's own VLAN ID so they cannot talk to each other.
the VM in question (I call it #2) is a cloned one from an existing VM (I call it #1). Both #1 and #2 have 2 NICs, one in VLAN 39 and the other in VLAN 41. All static IP addresses. Everything on VLAN39 side works fine (both VMs), but on VLAN 41, #2 cannot ping the gateway.
IP for #1 (VLAN 41) is 10.241.41.240
IP for #2 (VLAN 41) is 10.241.41.241
Gateway IP is 10.241.41.250
So here's what we discoverd:
#1 can ping #2 and gateway
#2 can ping #1, but not the gateway
Both firewalls have been turned off, and we have tried change #2's IP to another one, same result. Tried clone #1 again (sys-preped), same result.
What could be wrong??
