Esx 3.5 : Brocade 4900 Fabric : QLogic Qle2432 :Host not logging to the FC storage

Hi All,

I am running ESX 3.5 on a host that has a Qle 2432 HBA connected to a Brocade 4900 fabric. The Host is zoned with another port that goes into the back of the storage. Both Host HBA and Fabric are logged in to the storage. When I disconnect the fabric port connected to the storage I see both the Host and the Fabric logging out of the storage, but once I reconnect then I only see the fabric logging into the storage. I did connect the analyzer between the fabric and host HBA, and I don't see any activity after reconnecting the port. RSCN is enabled on the fabric. The host does login if there is any IO between the storage and the host. Please advice.

So your not seeing your host log back into the fabric ?

Trying logging into your 4900 via the web tools and under "port admin" check what the port is set to , it should be a F Port.

They are all coming up as Fports.

Login into your switches via ssh and run the following command.

"porterrshow"

Make sure you don't see any errors under the following

enc in

crc err

too shrt

too long

bad eof
