Version of esx 3.0.2

Lun's are removed but only data lun's no VMFS lun's

The lun for the VM is still the same.

How did you remove the LUNs ? Through Service Console or with the use of VIC ?

Do you, per chance, still see these removed LUNs in the storage configuration in the VIC (under Inventory -> Datastores) ?

Maybe on of those Data LUNs was used as an extend for the VM LUNs ?

The lun's who are removed where attach as raw devices on VM

Whe have no extended lun's

There where formatted NTFS so there was no VMFS on the Lun's

Whe had other vm white the same problem romeved the disk an than ad the disk again en this vm started up again. But others didn't

Can you move some VM's to another LUN, remove the empty LUN and re-add ?

I suspect you already did a rescan ?

What do you mean by removing the disk from another VM with the same problem, are we talking about Virtual Disks or LUNs ?

Yes did a rescan

the disk are virtual disk for the VM

Also did a ad to Inventory didn't work

The lun's witch ware removed are also removed of the san to created new lun's.

But non of the lun's where holding information for VM only data from users.

Cane it be that the Vmvk is corrupt.

Sorry I have a hard time picturing the setup.

The raw LUNs were they connected to these VM's ?

If this is the case, you'll need to adjust the vmx file to adjust the settings for the new devices.

Again, I could be understanding it wrong, but I think you deleted some disks (in the form of raw LUNs), and now your VM's can't find the disks and therefor don't boot ?? I think.

Hi - anyone else seent his error? I have the same problem:

LVM: 1358: One or more devices not found (file system (My shared SAN storage) cpu1: 1037

Originally I had one storage area shared by 2 ESX servers. I was then asked to split the storage area in two, one for system info, one for data. So I removed the extents and re-added. Now I get the error above in the eventlog.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.
