Error: Could not find host esx01 on this VirtualCenter instance

Hi all!

I'm having a new problem that is showing up on my ESX hosts when I try to run vcbMounter from the service console.

I'm running esx 3.5 in a five server farm with a virtual center 2.5 server.

Below is the output of the command:

# vcbMounter -h puy-vc-01.absher.local -u chris.crow -p ******** -a ipaddr:puy-ticket-01 -r /mnt/backup/puy-ticket-01 -t fullvm

Current working directory: /vmfs/volumes/45d1de11-d447e180-a8b5-000423d844d2/puy-www-03

Error: Could not find host puy-esx-01 on this VirtualCenter instance.

I went through and checked all of the dns resolutions, and even went as far as setting the host file on every server.

The only changes that have been made recently is:

- Migrating all esx hosts to a different subnet

- Patching the ESX hosts

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Thanks,

Chris

In vc, does the server show up correctly? Are you having the same issue against all of the esx hosts from vcb? Try disconnecting/reconnecting the esx host in vc.

- The servers show up correctly in virtual center as far as I can tell.

- I'm having the same symptom on all of my ESX hosts.

- I have disconnected and reconnected the hosts, but the problem persists.

I removed the host, then added it back, and that seemed to work.

I'll try it on the rest of the hosts.

Thanks for the help KjB!
