From White Paper "Implementing Microsoft Windows Serve 2008 RC0 on HP Proliant servers" from HP site.
I have found that to enable hardware-assisted virtualization on RBSU:
- disable Processor Hyper-treading
- Enable No-Execute Memory Protection
- Enable Intel Virtualization Technology
This configuration can be applied also to VMWARE VI 3.5?
Hello,
You will need to use the specific BIOS settings that HP recommends for VMware ESX. Unfortunately, I do not know the site they have all that information anymore, it keeps changing.

To enable it in 3.5 you just need to enable it in the bios, there are no other settings in esx that need to be changed. also you will see little performance improvement but it will enable you to run 64bit guests.
i have 3 DL580 G5's and I have it disabled because we have no plans for 64bit on that cluster.

Hello,
Your BIOS should also have Full Table APIC selected at least. There may be more settings for that model. But for Intel-VT you just set it in the BIOS.
