ESX3.5 Virtual Machine Backup

I have Installed ESX3.5 and installed the guest OS.

Can i able to take a Backup of Virtual Machine and create a new virtual machine migration.

Hi, what ESX licensing do you have?

If you have ESX licensing that includes VCB (for example Enterprise) you can setup VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) to backup your VM's.

I have download the evalution copy.

Whith the evaluation copy, you can use the consolidated backup framework. It's a commandline based backup utility to take full backups of virtual machines. To restore an image you need the converter.

I recommend you to evaluate the VMware VirtualCenter as well. You will find there an option to create a vm-image which you can use to deploy additional vm images.

PS: you can copy/paste a vm by using the command line on the vm server as well.
