ESX space

Hello,

I´m performing my firsts steps with ESX server 3 and linux.I have a storage1 defined. After I have created serveral virtual machines I´ve doing backup copies in the same storage1.Next I´ve deleted these backups.

Now when I connect with the vmware infrastructure client shows a lot of space in use.It looks like that the deleted gigabytes remain in the system trash. In order to delete the vmmachines files I ´ve used the rm -R * command. How can I delete this data permanently?I´m not able to locate the "Trash" folder.

Thank´s in advance.

There's no "trash folder" in ESX.

This is a known bug in the VI client.

Yes. Sometimes a "refresh" helps sometimes not.

To get the real actual disk usage login to the ESX console and execute the command "vdf -h".
