ESX on HP C3000 - DVD Drive issue

Hi Everyone, anyone running ESXs on HP C3000 Blades? I have problems switching the DVD Rom. My ESX host just cannot detect the DVD drive.. but i am able to mount and access it in console. On the VMs it is point to /dev/scd0

Am i missing anything?

Have you activated the DVD from the blade enclosure?

Log into the enclosure ILO, click the DVD drive (make sure a DVD is inserted in the drive), choose which blades to connect to the DVD-drive

Yes its connected in iLO, i tried the web iLO as well as kvm iLO, both didn't work. I'm sure the ESX OS can detect the drive because once i connect it i can see in the console. The problem is the VMs just can't see the drives.

The fix for this is as follows.

After assigning the DVD drive to the ESXi host through the OA you must restart services on the host. For ESXi get to the command prompt and enter services.sh restart

How do i award myself points for the correct answer haha Smiley Happy
