ESX not responding

Hi there,

I had to open a ftp port on my ESX, unexpectedly all my virtual machines appeared disconnected after this operation, and my server is not responding, but actually all the machines are working pretty well. Also the vmfs from the internal disk, (not from the SAN) is appearing in the Virtual Center as inactive.

The command I did was:

1. esxcfg-firewall -o 21,tcp,in,ftp

Does any one have some idea of what is going on?

Hi,

your command is OK. You can try simply reconnect esx server to VC (right click on ESX Server and select Connect). In case that you can't reconnect esx server, you can try restart vmware-hostd on the esx (/etc/init.d/mgmt-vmware restart).
