ESX installation help

Hi all,

I am newly learning VMware ESX. Before i have used VMware workstation. I want install VMware ESX 3.5 in my laptop only for learning purpose. Befor i have tried to install but i got network drive errors. What i do for install my laptop any one assist this issue.

Run ESX native on a laptop could be difficult cause HCL.

Run ESX into a VMware Workstation environment:

Thank you for your support. Now totally formatted my laptop(no any other os) i want install in VMware ESX in base os in the laptop.

Hi,

I think that you approach is not so good. You should have XP in your Laptop. and then install VMware Worksstation (the last version on your laptop).

Then install Vmware ESX version 3.5 on VMware Workstation. You can simult that like a Virtaul machine (Linux VM).

You have just some stting that you need to setup for that.

The issue that you can have could be about the processor.

Hi ,

You can install to VMware Workstation 6.5 after try to ESX 3.5 server . This workstation latest and support for ESX4.0 also

Your openion ok if i want install into VMware workstation only but i want boot in VMware ESX then i install Xp and others os. How i install ESX 3.5 in my laptop not into other os and programe?

Your Desktop or Laptop configuration support to ESX 3.5 mini requirement. It's possible .

Can you check in the BIOS CPU virtualization is Enabled?

Probably you can't.

You need certified (by VMware) hardware, or hope that your hardware could work.
