ESX fails over to controller B after a LUN rescan

Hi experts,

I have a very straight forward ESX3.5u3 implementation with SUN 6240 blades and ST2540 storage. Each blade is connected to 2 separate FC switches that connect to controller A and controller B on the ST2540. This is an active/passive storage so MRU is the configured failover path.

Everything is working absolutely fine, and ESX can see all the paths, however if on controller A, everytime I rescan the LUNs it fails over to controller B.

This is what I checked so far:

  1. I followed recommended practices on KB1005441 but still no luck.

  2. Confirmed failover host mode is Linux on the storage config

  3. Confirmed that both storage and I/O adapters are certified and supported

  4. Can't seem to find anything relevant on vmkwarnings or vmkernel logs

I'm running out of ideas here. Has anyone came across anything like this before? TIA

Hi.

I think I'm experiencing the same issue with my StorageTek 2540.

Have you found an answer to this?

Thanks
