ESX Server 3.0.2 met input/output error after many FC path failover tests

Problem Environment as followings description:

1.ESX Server 3.0.2 installed on IBM X440 Server

2.It's a SAN boot installation through FC connection to IBM SAN Volume Controller

3.Different kind of GOSs install on it and running IO testing

4.All storage used for tests is from SAN

5.This ESX Server Host connected to storage through two FC switchs

6.I'm doing switch reset testing with interval 15 mins , reset one FC switch and reset another after 15 mins

7.After running this test for about 20 hours, 44 time each switch, met this problem

Problem error message on ESX Server host not GOS

1.When login by ssh,

Last login: Tue Aug 21 12:22:13 2007 from 9.186.13.158

-bash: [: =: unary operator expected

-bash: [: too many arguments

2.Execute any command which need IO, output like following

root]# ls

-bash: /bin/ls: Input/output error

root]# touch a

-bash: /bin/touch: Input/output error

3.This problem occured after running this kind of path failover test for a long time, no only on switch reset test.

4.One more strange things, Windows GOS still can do IO testing without read-only problem, but all linux GOSs met read-only problem.

Maybe this one helps?

KB51306 - RHEL4 U3, RHEL4 U4, SLES9 SP3, and SLES10 File Systems Might Become Read-Only[/url]

Thank you , but this not help.

Just as I said, it's input/output error problem on ESX Server itself, not on GOS.
