ESX 3 and Legato

Hi all,

Would like to know if anyone is using Legato Networker to backup the ESX host machines. My dealings with Legato support is that we need to buy Networker Client Pack for Linux to do this. Any Comments???

hi all

i install the linux version un ESX server

This is my configuration:

The VMware ESX server version 3.0.0 infrastructure

The legato server is on a windows machine version 7.3

On ESX server I install nw732_linux_x86

before you have to download the legato-networker-addon from vmware site to permit the installation of legato linux version on the ESX server (for the problem of failed dependencies)

Then I installed nw732_linux_x86 and I start the daemons nsrexecd

all work properly BUT:

i have a problem because the server legato doesn't see the ESX netwroker client

there are other steps to do? maybe to server side?

i see "Consolidated Backup Integration Modules Integration Module to Legato Networker These integration modules will enable Consolidated Backup to work with specific backup software packages"

i need to install it?

did you check your firewall settings on the esx server?

Open up the ports necessary for legato.

did you reboot the server, or restarted the iptables service after editing the firewall rules?

Download Service Console Backup Enabler for Legato. If you are not going to use vcb together with NW, there's no need to use Integration Module.
