ESX 3.5 supported devices

I'm attempting to install the ESX 3.5 server onto a virgin Dell PowerEdge 2650 with no operating system. The visual installer is giving me messages that it can't find any logical hard drives and that it needs me to specify drivers for Adaptec AACRAID (aacraid - esx30) and for Broadcom Tigon 3 Ethernet (tg3). Neither is present on the list of available drivers. Yet, according to the online VMWare compatibility guide, ESX Server 3.5 should support both. The CD passes the disk integrity check. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The computer is a loaner so I can't be 100% sure, but I'd be very surprised if the RAIDset has been created. Sounds like I need to talk to the original custodian of this box tomorrow morning. This is likely doable even if there isn't an OS (or even a BIOS) on the computer, correct? (I'm a newbie at this, so I need to ask.)

I agree, it sounds like a RAID array isn't configured properly on that server. You probably just need to reboot the server and go into the RAID configuration to configure the array and create the logical drive.

Make sure that whoever gave you that system didn't strip hardware out of there before giving it to you.
