I have ESX 3.5 U1 servers connected to a Clariion CX3-80. The navisphere agent is reporting one of the VMFS LUNs as 'sda' The LUN in question happens to have a hostID of '0'. Is this expected behavior? Other LUNs show in Navisphere with the vmhba1:0:1 label. Wondering if anyone else using a CX has seen this? Do I have a configuration issue?
Thanks,
Jeff
Same symptom with CX3-40. Looks like a bug in the host agent. Any idea how to fix it? Has anyone tried changing the host ID of the LUN that is reported as sda from 0 to an other value? It seems that only the "first" LUN in the storage group is reported incorrectly, the rest are showing up properly.
Did you start you LUN presentation with HLU of 0? What size is the LUN presented as sda? Is it 0MB (LUNZ)?
Yes, the HLU is 0 it is not LUNZ, and the size is the actual size of the LUN presented
I am not sure but when we configured ours I seam to remember ensureing that the ID was not 0.
Can you give me the output of esxcfg-vmhbadevs -l and fdisk -l ?
