ESX 3.5 Update 5 iSCSI Performance Issues with EMC CX3-10c

VMware: ESX 3.5 Update 5

SAN: EMC Clariion CX3-10c via iSCSI

# of ESX Hosts: 7

We have been running an ESX 3.5 environment for about 5 years with an EMC Clariion CX3-10c iSCSI SAN. We run a diverse workload from web servers to SQL servers to Exchange servers. A few months ago we started having performance issues mainly around the storage system. We have experienced corruption in our Windows 2008 R2 VMs and other odd behavior, especially after storage vmotioning a few of the VMs to new LUNs. We have checked with Microsoft and EMC. Microsoft says it is storage and EMC says it is software. The piece in the middle is VMware.

Has anyone else experienced disk corruption or odd Windows 2008 R2 issues (.NET corruption) on ESX 3.5 Update 5? Can someone offer me guidance on how to go about reviewing the VMware logs to see if VMware can shed any light on our issue or point us to a solution?

Thanks,

Jay
